Privacy Policy
Justin Guedes built the Colinear app as a free app. This service is provided by Justin Guedes at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page informs you of my policies around the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for anyone who uses the Service. By choosing to use Colinear, you agree to the practices described in this policy. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described here.
The short version
Colinear is a native client for Linear. Your data flows directly between your device and Linear’s servers. Information you provide in the app is retained on your device and is not collected by me; the only exception is anonymised diagnostic data if the app encounters an error, as described below.
Your Linear account
You sign in to your own Linear workspace. The resulting access token is stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device and is only ever sent to Linear’s API. Signing out (or deleting the app) removes it.
Issues, projects, comments, and everything else you see in Colinear belongs to your Linear workspace and is governed by Linear’s own privacy policy. Colinear caches workspace data on your device so the app opens fast; deleting the app deletes the cache.
Information collection and use
For a better experience while using the Service, the app may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information (such as your Linear sign-in). This information is retained on your device and is not collected by me.
Log data
If an error occurs in the app, I collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called log data. This log data may include information such as your device’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app at the time of the error, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. It is used solely to diagnose and fix problems.
Service providers
I may employ third-party services to facilitate the Service or assist in diagnosing problems (such as the error reporting described above). These third parties have access only to the information needed to perform those tasks on my behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Security
I value your trust, so I strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting any information the app handles. Remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
The Service may contain links to other sites (for example, pages opened from Linear issues). External sites are not operated by me, and I have no control over — and assume no responsibility for — their content, privacy policies, or practices. I advise you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Children’s privacy
I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. You must be at least 16 years of age to consent to the processing of your personally identifiable information in your country (in some countries a parent or guardian may consent on your behalf). If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information through the app, please contact me.
Changes to this privacy policy
I may update this policy from time to time; changes are posted on this page, and the date above reflects the latest revision. This policy was originally effective as of 1 August 2023.
